THE FABRIC OF THE BAHAMAS

Androsia Hand Made Batik began on an Andros beach in the late 60s. Where others saw simple cotton cloth, Rosi Birch saw a creative outlet for the island. A way to provide good jobs for local women. A way to tell the colorful story of Andros Island, piece by piece, on authentic Bahamian hand-dyed textiles. Today, the company has found a way to help Andros again: sewing surgical masks for the island’s first responders and residents.
